Hey guys! So, as you have seen, my blog has been pretty full of the 'River Of Time' series books by Lisa T. Bergren. I'm in the middle of doing a re-read of the series, and safe to say, I've fallen in love again.
If you love the series like I do, feel free to give my seriously long book banter video, a watch. If you've never read the series, it probably won't make a lot of sense to you, but I'd imagine would be amusing to watch my...intense feels on the series, lol.

Your rant was absolutely perfect! I'm such a crazy fangirl over this series like I'm seriously obsessed. I've read this series more times than I can remember and the feeeellls tho. I never cry over books, like mayyybee maybe a tear or two for the odd sad book BUT THIS SERIES no I was sobbing like seriously ugly crying. And I pronounce everything the same way you do.. Marcello, Fortino, Deluge... I really don't know how to pronounce them properly either (except marcello.. But it will always be 'sello' never 'chello')
ReplyDeleteAnd Rodolfo. Seriously I didn't know what to think about him at first. Like he was evil and hunting Gabi and Lia and I really didn't like him, then he helped Gabi escape from the cage, and I thought maybe he wasn't so bad. But then in Torrent when he was trying to convince Gabi to marry him AND EVEN WENT AS FAR AS TO KISS HER I hated him and hated what he was doing to Gabi and making her have conflicting emotions and confusing her. It really bugged me. Even when she got back with marcello I still didn't like Rodolfo. But then Bourne & Tributary came and I slowly started to like him. And then Deluge. I loved Rodolfo by the time I read Deluge AND HE JUST DIED. AND LEFT ALESSANDRA ALONE!! The tears though. The tears! I will never ever recover from Rodolfo's death. Ever.
But even though he dies, Deluge is my favourite of all the books.
But about Gabi in the first book... Maybe I'm immature too... Probably. But I'm kinda the same as her in as much as no guy has ever shown interest in me and if a reallllly really hot guy started to like me... Well i would probably react quite a lot like Gabi. (I'm 18 so like pretty much in the same boat as Gabi... Except that I have no chance of time traveling to meet my knight in shining armour...too bad haha)

Thank you! About Gabi...let's be honest that while it may come off as looking ridicules at times, it is perfectly natural and NORMAL to fangirl. I've done it, I continue to do it...I'll keep on doing it forever! Haha :) And then there's the fact that when in love, a lot of one's imaginings would sound funny to anyone other than the person who is romantically involved, lol :) I think she's perfectly fine- I just wish I had have reiterated that better in the video...I was more replying to the people who were rolling their eyes in disgust at her "Girlish fantasies and silliness" but I personally enjoyed them. Ehehe.
DeleteAnd Rodolfo...yeah, he is the king of mixed feelings in these books. I identified with him better for certain reasons, than other characters, maybe it was his serious watchful & observant nature- but he definitely had his faults. When he kissed Gabi, I was like...whet. Whet? But at the same time it was an interesting side plot, seeing how Gabi navigated through having another near love interest and learning through that process. But he admitted his mistakes and proved himself better in Bourne & Tributary- so, score!

So I'm in the middle of re-reading the series and I'm on Torrent and even Gabi says that had she been watching a movie and the characters acted as cheesy as she and marcello, she said she would have burst out laughing. And ya I get what you were saying about how she is a little silly about it all... But I love it at the same time.. Hehehe
